Hello 2013

Hello my beauties. My apologies for my blog disappearance. 2012 was not the greatest year for me but it did help lay the groundwork for 2013.

Just to give you background into me: I am a freelance photographer, currently work for a cosmetics retailer, in the process moving to the Midwest and a writer.

Beauty is an extension of everything above but unfortunately it has been some what neglected.  Never fear, I have begun a new time management program so starting in Feb 2013, I will have found a way to post timely and more effectively.

For those that have stuck with me, thank you so much. You have no idea how much that means to me.

If you want to follow most of my other exploits, you can check my photo on Facebook at facebook.com/ dracophoto. My instagram is beautyamateur_janadd.  My other blog for more family, topical, and personal is draco1976.wordpress.com.

Thanks for sticking with me my BA Beauties.

TLC for the feet - A little T for Toes and Stepping Stone

Hello My Beauties. I do hope June has started out well for all of you. Today's POV is about taking care of my feet.  Since the warm weather is upon us, toesies and feet are making their appearance.  My feet however needed to get in tip top shape.

Yes I have to paint my toe nails..Don't judge me

To help get my feet to exposing themselves to the world condition, I invested in Lush Cosmetics' T for Toes and Stepping Stone Pumice.

1st: While taking a bath, I used of my Stepping stone to exfoliate my feet.
Stepping Stone

When I say part I mean part I do mean part. It has a sodium bicarbonate base. If water gets in contact with the whole stone, it will waste away under the water. It breaks up fairly easily so a small part will exfoliate both feet.
The stone has jojoba oil, lemon oil and lime oil and pumice. Your feet will be smoothed and moisturized at the same time.  (Do not worry about playing slip and slide while trying to get out the shower)

Powder for the Toes

2nd: Once you pat yourself dry, sprinkle some T for Toes on not only the toes, but the whole foot. T for Toes is this wonderful foot powder has sodium bicarbonate and China clay to keep the feet dry while the Tea Tree and lime help with the antibacterial and anti fungal.

Once I did this, my feet are summer ready especially for this wonderful NY heat.

Hope all my lovelies are keeping their toes in great shape and ready for the summer.

Purple and Green.... well make purple and green :)

Hello My BA Beauties. Hope this day is finding you all well. Today it is quite cold in NYC so I decided to have a little fun with my nails.

The lovely colors used today were Rags to riches from Rimmel London and NYC color in Park avenue.
My first issue is my own... I need to stop doing other things immediately after I do my nails. Created a wonderful smudge and had to re-do. ( I know some of you have felt this and know this pain)

Now I am trying to be a better blogger for my followers so I am including the cost of the nail polishes just in case you may want to pick them up for yourselves.

Rimmel London rags to riches can be found at Ulta for $3.99 and NYC Color Prince Street can be found ( well for me at a drugstore called Duane Reade) for $1.99. But for you lovelies I have included the NYC color Link  and they have a store finder so you can find close to you.

I do hope you do enjoy my alter. Just trying to keep myself bright and happy on this cold day.

BE GORGEOUS. BE WONDERFUL.BE YOU.

Beauty On a Budget

Hey my BA Beauties ( yes I gave y'all a nickname). I hope your new year celebrations were fun, magical and that you looked amazing. As for Moi, the BA herself, I watched the Twilight Zone marathon.
Don't judge me :)
Now on the reason for this post. Two days ago, I was on FB talking to a friend who I am in group with.
The talk began regular and then we got on the topic of makeup.

She like me is beginning with makeup in her 30's. I did not realize that there were ladies starting with beauty in their 30's as opposed to being younger. I know I had no interest in makeup because my mom rarely wore it and when my grandmother wore it, unfortunately, it did not make her look too attractive.

My friend Jackie (shout out) was telling me about where she is beginning. She went to Mac because she know the brand and truthfully with makeup, I would suggest going to a brand or name you love. I went to Sephora for my foundation journey because going to my local drugstores, I can browse color till the cows come home and still not be sure what I should get. Honestly, I do not feel like spending more than I need to find my right color.

As we talked further, she told me how she found the wonderful Naked palette  from Urban Decay but saw that it cost $48. I then recommended to her the NYX Nude palette
which has more nude and neutral colors than the naked palette and the price point is lower at $25.

After that, we began to talk about more eyeshadow palettes and I recommended the 144 eyeslipsface palette for $15.00  She was excited and thought she could never own a palette with so many colors.

So what I am saying my BA Beauties is have fun with the expensive brands and have fun with inexpensive brands and have fun with drugstore brands. I know there are some who already know this but I am speaking to those that see beauty sometimes as daunting and to those that are just starting out.

Find the brands you love and find stuff that is comparable to your expensive brands. I also recommend one of my new favorite blogs, Nouveau Cheap. This is an amazing blog to finding deals on drug store brands and should be bookmarked.

***** Remember loves, makeup is fun***************

Review of Eye Roller by Frutique Beauty by Nature

Good Morning Loves. I spent half my morning trying to add my YouTube subscription widget and literally I'm done.  The widget shows up on another page but whatever.. PLEASE SUBSCRIBE. http://www.youtube.com/subscribe_widget?p=TheBeautyAmateur

Now on to the review.

Frutique Beauty by Nature Renew Review ( hey that rhymed) :)

OK I did a review on this my YouTube page

I decided to a little more in-depth review here. First, you can only purchase Beauty By Nature Products at Sally's Beauty Supply. For those of you who may not be near a Sally's, I suggest you go to the website and make an account.  I made this purchase based on two reviews from the site. I have been looking for a puffy eye reducer for a bit and decided to give it a try to I am glad that I did. I know there are  a lot of expensive eye creams that reduced puffiness and diminish dark circles, but I did not have a lot of money to invest. ( not being cheap in the slightest but beauty can get pricey). I decided to try it and see what would happen.

So, I applied it twice a day, once before going to work and once before going to bed. I always felt my eyes look tired because I wer glasses and when I get up, it may not be the prettiest site ( insert ugly pic here ) but what I love about the eye roller is how refreshing my skin around my eye felt. It felt awake  and really that's what I needed to feel.

The key ingredients are Mandarin Orange extract, caffeine and Eyeliss. For those of you who want to know what Eyeliss is, it is defined as Contains three essential peptides that reduce under eye puffiness.

What I love about Fruit by Nature is their philosophy of using fruit and natural ingredients to help your skin be beautiful. I know we are all wanting to go green and no longer have animal testing, especially in the cosmetics and beauty Industry, but it is quite refreshing to see a company do this from the beginning.  For more info, check their website by clicking on Here.

Just In Case you were wondering, no I am not sponsored by Frutique Beauty by Nature. I am just thoroughly enjoying their product and I am looking forward to trying more from them.

STAY BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Lovelies.. Welcome to my new Blog Home. This is just my intro blog so here we GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So Here I am a 35 yr old female who is going back to loving makeup.  And its not because of my age that I decided to get back into makeup.
