Put the Base on your Face - Review of Smashbox HD Healthy F/X foundation

Hey my Lovelies. Welcome to another installment of my P.O.V.. Today I am going to talk about one of my current foundations, Smashbox HD Healthy F/X  Foundation.

********** Clause. I purchased these myself from smashbox myself***************

My foundation routine is Smashbox Photo Finish primer, Smashbox High Definition Concealer in medium  and Smashbox HD healthy F/X Foundation.
Photo finish foundation primer

HD Concealer in Medium

HD Healthy F/X Foundation in Medium

1st- I put on primer. The primer helps the foundation last all day and it feels amazing on your face. Also, primer is a great barrier so you do not put the foundation directly on your skin.  The primer is extremely light weight.

here is my concealer
2nd - Concealer for my dark circles and any spots that may need a little hiding. Even though it is in medium, it is still lighter than my foundation. Smashbox has a wonderful option in choosing your concealer . YOu can click on each shade to find out what suits you and your skins undertones. While I do like this concealer, You do have to be careful not to put on too much as you will be blending for a hot minute.

3rd - Once I have concealed my dark circles and such, I apply the HD foundation.
There is my foundation
I do not put a lot on my hand And I do the four dots with my Sigma F84 angled Kabuki brush.
I so love this brush.
Now when I say four dots, I mean forehead, each cheek and chin and then proceed to blend.

Why I do love the Sigma F84 is it helps blending foundation so easily. Being angled, just helps you reach all the corners and contours of your lovely face.

Now once I am done, my face is pretty polished without feeling cakey.

The HD Healthy F/X Foundation  is a very light yet effective foundation. I will be looking for a full coverage but I am not in a rush since I love my freckles and I want them to show through.

The cost involved for each is as follows :

Photo finish Primer (which is for  perfect skin) is $36. Smashbox does have a perfect primer finder to help with determining the best primer for your skin type.

High Definition Concealer Is $20.

High Definition Healthy F/X  UVA/UVB SPF 15 Oil Free is $38.

I submit for your trying approval the Smashbox Foundation Routine.

Be Gorgeous. Be Wonderful. Be You.

Hey my BA Beauties. Im feeling kind of special right now. I just got tag from one of my Fav beauty Bloggers Lady Stephanie of The New Beauty Review . She recently got tagged from a fellow beauty blogger. I will be passing this along people so you have been warned.

 Here are the lovely rules:

- You must post these rules.
- Each person must post 11 things about themselves on their blog.
- Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post and create 11 new questions for the people you tag to answer.
- You have to choose 11 people to tag and link them on the post.

- No tag backs.
- No stuff in the tagging section about 'you are tagged if you are reading this'. You legitimately have to tag 11 people.

Here are the questions from Lady Steph :

1.) What does the word "Beauty" mean to you? Beauty means that inner happiness and glow. When you are feeling wonderful and happy, that means beauty to me

I Heart my Indie Lee Body Scrub

Hello My BA Beauties. Welcome to another installment of my P.O.V.  Today, I am going to talk about my love for my Indie Lee Body Scrub.

The Body Scrub.. as if you can't read it :)

I was introduced to the Indie Lee body scrub from my Beauty army kit for February.  Now, I love baths. (weird right :) but when I saw this as one of my monthly choices, I had to try it. I have tried many body scrubs through out my 35 year lifetime but Ms. Indie Lee's is by far one of the better ones. Just to give you all a little background on Indie Lee. She is a brain surgery survivor who on Earth 2009 was given a second chance at life. When she found out the environmental  toxins were the cause of her tumor, she began her quest to create the finest beauty products using nothing but natural ingredients.

Once I got this in my hands, I proceeded to take my bath. Barring any bad visuals from that statement, when I used my scrub gloves with the scrub, it was AAAAAMMMMMAAAAZZZZIIIIINNNNNGGG!!!! As most of you maybe aware, some scrubs may feel a little to rough on your skin, but not with on. It is just right, You feel like you are taking of your dead skin with out feeling like you removed all your skin.  Once, you are done, you are left with a very gentle coconut and citrus scent and base. Your skin will fell amazing and you will smell great.

What the scrub looks like

I have also learned from Indie Lee herself that she will have a trunk show at Henri Bendels here in NYC. If any of my BA Beauties are in the city March 19th -25th, definitely come out and support.

I submit for your consideration, Indie Lee. Here is her link.
Also, if any of you are interested in trying the monthly service from Beauty Army, click here

I Received a Blog AWARD!!!! I am so Honored

Hey My BA Beauties. This blog post is a bit delayed because I wanted to make sure I did it right. About 3 weeks ago, I received my first Blog award from one of my coolest followers Miss SDsparkles7.  I am and still so honored. I know this post is long overdue but I wanted to make sure I found 5 blogs I wanted to pass the award on to.

The rules for this award are actually quite simple. ( I copy and pasted, I did)

***This award is meant ONLY for people who have a blog dedicated to makeup...thats why the "Beauty"***

The person who receives the award should link back to the person who gave the award

The person who receives this award must pass this on to 5 other beauty blogs that he/she follows and out of the 5 one should be a newly discovered blog

The person who receives the award should list 5 trends of makeup that he/she likes or dislikes or both

The best rule - The person who receives the award should post a link to Beauty-Ful Blog Awards So people who have not received the award can nominate themselves

FIRST special link to BA Beauty who gave me the award SDGLITTER's Blog

So here are the blogs I nominate for this award

2) Tina D

5) Daly Beauty ( recently discovered since I just began to follow her on twitter)

So far as the trends go in makeup:

1) Loving the cleansing brushes for cleaning the face rather than using your hands
2) The introduction of brighter colors using on the eyes
3) The new Nail polish collection colors (especially from OPI)
4) Foundation Primers ( feel wonderful on and helps your foundation last)
5) More environmentally friendly cosmetics and tools

BE GORGEOUS. BE WONDERFUL. BE YOU.

Are any of my lovelies "Fresh"?

Good Morning my BA Beauties. Today's POV is about one of my skincare cleansers. It is called the Soy Face Cleanser from Fresh.  I was introduced to Fresh by my sis and fellow BA Beauty. She has been using the Soy facial cleanser for 2 years. I started using the Soy Face cleanser for about 2 months and it is extremely gentle. What I love about the cleanser is how extremely gentle it is. The cleanser can be used on all skin types which is phenomenal.

50ml cost $15.00

What it looks like from the tube

The cleanser goes on the face very gentle and it does not lather very much. For those of you that want a cleanser to over lather, this will not be good for you. Now once you rinse your face, it will feel refreshed and your skin doesn't feel very dry.

30 ML costs $80.00
When I purchased my cleanser, I was given a sample of  the Black Tea Age Delay Serum as a follow up. My rep Jeff was kind enough to say, its not like you need the age delay but why not start preventative measures now.  I used the serum right after I pat dry my face and it felt amazing.

I completely enjoy using the soy cleanser and the black tea serum. I rate the cleanser  for me 10/10. I am glad to have such a gentle yet effective cleanser.
My only grimace face about Fresh is their price point.
They are not cheap. In fact some items are very expensive and it may throw some of you of because of the sizes are not so large.

What I will say though is if you have the funds to spare, try the soy face cleanser. The size I purchased is only $15.00 so give it go.

If any of you beauties try it, please let know what your experience is and remember:

BE GORGEOUS. BE WONDERFUL. BE YOU.

Here are the information and rules

Luxury cosmetics brand Whip Hand Cosmetics launches the “Fame Your Name” Cosmetics Naming Contest, which asks fans to name the company’s new makeup remover product. The Grand Prize winner’s name will be featured on the product and packaging.

Who better to name your new cosmetic product then the people who are most passionate about makeup, beauty and fashion? And who better to promote alongside that new product than the next generation of up-and-coming beauty and fashion talent who developed the name?
Luxury cosmetics and beauty brand Whip Hand Cosmetics is launching the “Fame Your Name” Cosmetics Naming Contest, which asks makeup artists, cosmetics junkies, fashion designers, models, photographers, stylists, beauty and cosmetics bloggers and fans to help the edgy, up-and-coming, Detroit-based cosmetics and beauty company name its new makeup remover product.
In return, the Grand Prize recipient will have their winning name featured on the Whip Hand Cosmetics makeup remover product and packaging at the company’s official launch and debut at The International Makeup Artists Trade Show in New York City, April 14 & 15, 2012.
Even better, Whip Hand Cosmetics will include a card profiling the Grand Prize Winner with every bottle of the makeup remover the company ships for the next year. The winning entry will become the official, permanent name of the makeup remover product.
Enter the contest today at the Whip Hand Cosmetics “Fame Your Name” Cosmetics Naming Contest.
“Whip Hand Cosmetics was built on the idea that we wanted to create a company that included beauty, fashion and cosmetics professionals in the process of creating exceptional, innovative and trend-setting products that met and exceeded professionals’ needs,” explains Riese Lauriat, Whip Hand Cosmetics Founder and Chief Makeup Artist.  “Even more importantly, we believe in promoting great talent, regardless of their level of experience, credentials, pedigree, or connections. That’s why we took the step of upping the ante, by giving the person with the winning name the opportunity to be promoted alongside our product when it ships.”
The contest asks beauty, makeup and fashion professionals, as well as the public, to come up with a name for Whip Hand Cosmetics’ new makeup remover product.
Whip Hand Cosmetics is accepting entries for the first round of the contest until midnight EDT Monday, March 12, 2012. The contest is open to U.S. residents, 18 years or older.
A group of judges at Whip Hand Cosmetics will choose the final five most promising names from all of the entries and announce them Wednesday, March 14th, 2012 on the Official Whip Hand Cosmetics Facebook page. The product name that receives the most “Likes” during the public voting period will become the official name of the makeup remover product.
The four Runners-Up will receive a $25 Whip Hand Cosmetics Gift Certificate and a free 8 oz. bottle of the makeup remover when it’s released.
