Hey my Lovelies. As most of you know, I am a nail polish fiend. So believe I was more than overjoyed that OPI has introduced a new Collection known as the Holland Collection.

Now as you can tell from the picture above, there are wide variety of colors with names such as " I don't give a rotterdam, Vampsterdam , thanks a windmillion and so on. Each has a reference to something found in Holland.
With me, I am choosy with my nail colors. I am true lover of blues, purples, browns, pearlesque and greens. Reds and pinks are not found too much in my nail polish collection because I do not really care for them. I find them just a little too potent on my nails.

My sister sent me a beauty care package and bought me Wooden Shoe like to know which is a great brown with gold flecks. First, the formula is amazing. It held up so well and I judge nail polishes by this because my job causes epic challenges on my manicures.
I decided to go out and purchase two more from this collection - Vamptsterdam and I Don't give a Rotterdam.

Both applied very well and look amazing. I will probably be purchasing a couple of the green colors for the collection since green is in this spring. So for my nail polish lovers, may I suggest adding the Holland collection your own personal collection.

Review of Smashbox Cosmetics Try it kit

Hello My BA Beauties and welcome to another installment of my POV :) ( insert giggle here)

I treated my self to a buying craze at Smashbox Cosmetics and bought great items to add to my Makeup collection. Part of my Vday gift to myself was purchasing the Smashbox Try it Kit. The kit cost only $19 though the value of it stated is $52 and I can see why.

You receive .25 fl oz of Photo finish foundation primer, .02 fl ox of the Photo Finish Lid primer, .13fl oz of Hyperlash mascara in Black, Limitless eye liner in Onyx and Smashbox Lip Enhancing Lip Gloss in Illume .14fl oz. Now since you guys know I am about finding products for those just starting out or getting back into makeup, this is a fabulous kit to purchase.

The primers feel amazing and so light on my skin. Since I have never used a foundation primer before I was not sure exactly what is was for. Smashbox's foundation primer has a lightweight blend of vitamins A and E, Grape Seed extract and Green Tea. It is said to create a great canvas for you to put your foundation on and it can me worn alone or under your foundation. It said to help reduce fine line and reduce pore size. All I can tell you is it feels amazing on the skin.

Since I already own some of Smashbox's eyeliners, I was already impressed with those so the limitless eye liner was no exception. I am however getting to have more eyeliner in various colors. There is just something creating eye lines is colors just fabulous to me.

The Lip enhancing gloss is gorgeous and so not sticky which I am overjoyed with. It can either be worn alone or used over your fav lipstick.

Now, unfortunately, I did have a bit of an issue with the hyper lash mascara. While the mascara itself is amazing, the applicator is plastic and flexible which wasn't the problem. The problem is how wet the mascara goes on initially. I know most beauties want their mascara to go one and dry quickly. But that's really my only issue.

So lovelies, I submit to you for consideration the Try it kit from smashbox. Great starter kit.

Interview With Lush Cosmetics !!!!!

Hey my BA Beauties.. Today I went on an interview at Lush Cosmetics in Union Square in NYC.

The first thing I noticed was that is was called a hiring party and they mean it. The manager Rachel created an atmosphere of fun and excitement. Her attitude was completely infectious. Also, I met Adam, who is an outstanding employee from Philadelphia and Lydia who is a senior key holder who is from San Francisco. Adam is an actor and has such an upbeat and fun personality and Lydia who is from San Francisco is fun yet a little low key.
The group overall was fantastic. Most of the people interviewing has lush in their lives on the daily so I have a pretty good feeling they will be hired. Using and being about the brand is a HUGE plus. Everyone though was genuinely friendly and honestly and its show the type of atmosphere that Lush is trying to keep and cultivate.

During the process, we were split into two groups to learn more about how to sell the products. The first was working with Adam discussing the Bath bombs. ( I AM SO IN LOVE WITH THE BATH BOMBS). Adam was like they make it fun when they are showing someone how the beads work and the whole store gets hyped up. The Fizz banger bath bomb... fizzy and creamy.. in love :D

After that , we went to the shower care area, I got to experience rub a dub. ((((MY GOODNESS))) my arm feels amazing. you also need to be very comfortable in touching or reaching out to people so they can experience it for themselves. Most people who come in to Lush should not be afraid to have the associates give them a demonstration of the product.

Then my group was transferred to Lydia was showing us skincare line. We got to play with Ocean Salt , face and body scrub. (((My god so creamy and thick))). And the tone and then moisturizer. My goodness amazing.

I will say the overall experience was quite refreshing and anyone who gets to interview definitely bring your personality and love of the brand. I had fun and I cannot say that for most interviews.

Fun Look with NYX Cosmetics and Dior Mascara

Hello My BA Beauties. Today , I was talking with one of my BA Beauties , Von Kitty via skype and we were just randomly playing with our makeup. While talking to her, I decided to play with my NYX cosmetics Studio Liquid Liner in extreme smoky gray, then the NYX cosmetics jumbo eye pencil in Milk and of course ,my Dior show Waterproof Mascara in Noir.

I created just a simple eye line with a wing and just used mascara.

Purple and Green.... well make purple and green :)

Hello My BA Beauties. Hope this day is finding you all well. Today it is quite cold in NYC so I decided to have a little fun with my nails.

The lovely colors used today were Rags to riches from Rimmel London and NYC color in Park avenue.
My first issue is my own... I need to stop doing other things immediately after I do my nails. Created a wonderful smudge and had to re-do. ( I know some of you have felt this and know this pain)

Now I am trying to be a better blogger for my followers so I am including the cost of the nail polishes just in case you may want to pick them up for yourselves.

Beauty On a Budget

Hey my BA Beauties ( yes I gave y'all a nickname). I hope your new year celebrations were fun, magical and that you looked amazing. As for Moi, the BA herself, I watched the Twilight Zone marathon.

Don't judge me :)
Now on the reason for this post. Two days ago, I was on FB talking to a friend who I am in group with.
The talk began regular and then we got on the topic of makeup.

She like me is beginning with makeup in her 30's. I did not realize that there were ladies starting with beauty in their 30's as opposed to being younger. I know I had no interest in makeup because my mom rarely wore it and when my grandmother wore it, unfortunately, it did not make her look too attractive.

My friend Jackie (shout out) was telling me about where she is beginning. She went to Mac because she know the brand and truthfully with makeup, I would suggest going to a brand or name you love. I went to Sephora for my foundation journey because going to my local drugstores, I can browse color till the cows come home and still not be sure what I should get. Honestly, I do not feel like spending more than I need to find my right color.

As we talked further, she told me how she found the wonderful Naked palette from Urban Decay but saw that it cost $48. I then recommended to her the NYX Nude palette
which has more nude and neutral colors than the naked palette and the price point is lower at $25.

After that, we began to talk about more eyeshadow palettes and I recommended the 144 eyeslipsface palette for $15.00 She was excited and thought she could never own a palette with so many colors.

So what I am saying my BA Beauties is have fun with the expensive brands and have fun with inexpensive brands and have fun with drugstore brands. I know there are some who already know this but I am speaking to those that see beauty sometimes as daunting and to those that are just starting out.

Find the brands you love and find stuff that is comparable to your expensive brands. I also recommend one of my new favorite blogs, Nouveau Cheap. This is an amazing blog to finding deals on drug store brands and should be bookmarked.

Elf Nail Polishes---- New Formulas

Hello my Beauties. I know you are aware that I had my E.L.F. haul recently. I decided to do my nails with E.L.F's new formula.

The colors I used today are Dark Navy and Metal Madness. I did not notice until the dark navy has sparkles in it until I put on my nails. What I will say is the navy is really beautiful, a fabulous navy with sparkles. I wanted to add a little more sparkle so I put one coat of the metal madness on top of the Navy.

Even though I never got to try E.L.F old nail formulas , I will say these new formulas are not too thick. It is really in my humble opinion on par with my Sally Hansen colors.

Did a top coat of OPI and here is the result

Glittery Hottie Nails - Don't be jealous ;)

Hello Lovelies.. Today is manicure day (at least for me). I am kind of proud because my sinful color manicure last week in color Shausha #114 actually held up pretty well. I was feeling a little more festive today and decided my nails should sparkle.

My Manicure today consists of :

Perfection and Cutex Nail Polish removers
Vaseline Intensive rescue repairing moisture lotion
Sally Hansen Nail Nutrition Green tea + Olive growth
Sinful Colors Professional in Color Hottie # 831
OPI Top Coat

1st - removed the old nail polish. I actually had to use two removers because the color was staying more than revlon colorstay :)

2nd : Once I free of polish, to get that remover feel off my hands, I washed them, pat dry with a paper towel and used my Vaseline Lotion to put moisture back in my hands.

3rd: Applied my Sally Hansen Growth Base coat

4th: Applied my first coat of Hottie ( notice how light it is)

5th: After giving a little time to dry, applied my second coat of Hottie

6th: Once dried, applied my OPI top coat to give it some shine

And here is my result: It feels very new year's to me and I love the color blue ( Win win)

OOOOO I have Lashes - Enter DiorShow Waterproof Mascara

Good Morning lovelies.

This is my morning face ( i know not too pretty especially with my Alfalfa spike there but hey). As you can see, you can tell I really do not have many eyelashes (or they are so light they cant be seen).For years , I figured I would never have them and since I wear glasses, not like anyone would see them. Enter Christian Dior Dior Show Mascara . HELLO.... I found this wonderful mascara when I went to Sephora to look for foundation. When my beauty expert Cameron put this on my lashes, I was AMAZED!!!!!

I could not believe I actually had lashes and they made my eyes pop even wearing my specs.

I truly am happy with this Mascara. At Sephora, the retail price is $24.50 which is pricey considering you can get mascara from your local drug store but I was recommended Lash Blast Mascara from Covergirl as a more price friendly substitute.

I was also recommended Benefits "They're Real Mascara" which I want to buy since I was told it is on par with Dior's.

So for all you lovelies who think OMG I will never have lashes and do not wanna go the Latisse route ( changing eye colors and what not) , Please Give Dior Show a try.

You will not regret it.

Review of Eye Roller by Frutique Beauty by Nature

Frutique Beauty by Nature Renew Review ( hey that rhymed) :)

I decided to a little more in-depth review here. First, you can only purchase Beauty By Nature Products at Sally's Beauty Supply. For those of you who may not be near a Sally's, I suggest you go to the website and make an account. I made this purchase based on two reviews from the site. I have been looking for a puffy eye reducer for a bit and decided to give it a try to I am glad that I did. I know there are a lot of expensive eye creams that reduced puffiness and diminish dark circles, but I did not have a lot of money to invest. ( not being cheap in the slightest but beauty can get pricey). I decided to try it and see what would happen.

So, I applied it twice a day, once before going to work and once before going to bed. I always felt my eyes look tired because I wer glasses and when I get up, it may not be the prettiest site ( insert ugly pic here ) but what I love about the eye roller is how refreshing my skin around my eye felt. It felt awake and really that's what I needed to feel.

The key ingredients are Mandarin Orange extract, caffeine and Eyeliss. For those of you who want to know what Eyeliss is, it is defined as Contains three essential peptides that reduce under eye puffiness.

What I love about Fruit by Nature is their philosophy of using fruit and natural ingredients to help your skin be beautiful. I know we are all wanting to go green and no longer have animal testing, especially in the cosmetics and beauty Industry, but it is quite refreshing to see a company do this from the beginning. Hey Lovelies.. Welcome to my new Blog Home. This is just my intro blog so here we GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So Here I am a 35 yr old female who is going back to loving makeup. And its not because of my age that I decided to get back into makeup. I have been scouring You-tube and have been posting my own natural hair journey videos. This just seemed like a natural progression. I literally have subscribed to the almost every You tube guru established and up and coming. I have then made accounts with all the beauty places. You guys know Sephora, MAC, Sally's Beauty, Tarte, E.L.F, Nars and so on.

Now I titled it the Amateur because I am starting over but believe I will catch on quickly but I dont mind the name. After all, We as humans are always growing.
